What Is a Toyota Celsior?
By Jonathan Jernigan ·
The Toyota Celsior is the JDM version of what North America knows as the Lexus LS. Same platform, same 1UZ-FE V8, sold under the Toyota badge exclusively in Japan.
Despite these cars approaching 30+ years old, many clean and low mileage examples still exist in Japan, something that's incredibly hard to come by in the states.
The Celsior came standard with the incredibly soft and comfortable wool seats, rather than leather. Instead, Japanese customers buying a Celsior had to elect for leather seats.
Fortunately, almost every single part that fits an LS400 also fits the Celsior, so you won't struggle to find most any part you need.
The main exceptions would be steering rack and brake boosters, but luckily since we're talking about an LS400, those items are very unlikely to fail in the first place.
